What to expect / FAQ

How's the aerial boatlife like?

The Aerial Cruise is perfect for people who – like ourselves – miss their aerial apparatus when they’re on vacation and for those who dream of rigging above the sea. There will be open training sessions and workshops every day, and you’ll have plenty of time to relax as well. We want it to be a perfect mix of action and relaxation.

Dive into the Aerial Boatlife for a week and enjoy training above the sea. Wake up at a different spot every day. The first thing you’ll see when you step on deck in the morning is the fabrics floating above the turquoise water. What adventure are you going to have today? Use a mermaid tail to dance underwater or even in the air on the aerial net. Explore new spinning techniques using the water below you or try out a recent drop and let the silks catch you just above the surface. Relax while we sail to a new bay. Enjoy the breeze and let the wind play with your hair while you soak in the sun. Get a front-row seat for beautiful sunsets and a sky full of stars.

Let us show you the hidden treasures of the Croatian islands

and make some unforgettable memories. This cruise is anything but ordinary!

Aerial FAQ
Boatlife FAQ
  • How can I imagine training over the water?
You will get wet during training. The best way to get on the apparatus is by swinging off the boat. After your turn, you get in the water and swim back towards the boat. Bring a warm sweater or surf poncho for the in-between-times! There are two training spots per workshop (about 60min) with a maximum of four participants.
  • Whats the weekly timetable?
The daily routines depend on the weather and the route. We will have welcome dinner on Saturday and start our adventure on Sunday heading to our first bay to train and stay overnight. The next day we will go to a lovely little town and spend the night there. As the weather allows, we will continue to another bay and another city for the rest of the days. There’s a little more sailing action on Friday as we need to refill the fuel tanks and head back to the marina. We will have our last dinner together on Friday, and everyone is leaving on Saturday morning.
  • Is there the possibility to do silks every day?
Except for the arrival and departure day (Saturdays) - yes! Besides the ongoing workshops, there will be a minimum of two apparatuses available for free training. The first and last day on the sea (Sunday and Friday) is more sailing. So there will be less time than usual to train. Usually, the apparatuses are hanging 3-7 hours per day. Lousy weather conditions might limit training time.
  • What apparatuses are on board?
We will provide the following aerial apparatuses: silks, net, hammock. Unfortunately, we can’t bring any “bulky” equipment (e.g., lyra).
  • What is the skill level of the workshops?
All workshops will be adapted to the student's skill levels. We teach in small groups of 4 people off the boat over the sea. Different groups will be taught different content based on skill level. We are not (!) taking total beginners on board with us. A basic knowledge of Aerial Silks and/or Aerial Sling/Hammock and basic aerial strength is necessary to have fun in this unique setting.
  • What is it like to live on a sailing yacht?
You can sort of think of it as camping on water. Space is limited indoors, but we will spend most of the times outdoors where the ocean is our vast garden. There's everything we need in the boat: Small double rooms and small bathrooms. There's a kitchen with a gas stove and a self-service fridge, and everything is stored in unique cupboards so that nothing can fall out while we're at sea. Space is tight! But: you won't be spending much time below deck anyways. And who needs a big shower when the sea surrounds you?!
  • How's the room & sleeping situation on board? I don't feel comfortable sharing a cabin.
If you don't feel comfortable sharing a cabin, we would highly recommend bringing a friend with whom you can share the cabin. If this is not an option, we want to state that we've never had problems with sharing the cabins before. We will meet for dinner on the first evening so you can get to know each other before sharing a cabin. Of course, we also try to meet all your wishes and needs. Therefore no one will have to share the cabin with a person (of the opposite sex) if this is not desired. Normally, at the end of the week nobody sleeps in the cabin anymore, but on deck under the stars anyways. ;-)
  • What will be our route? What places will we see?
We will start and finish our trip in Sukosan. During the week we sail around and between the islands of Uglijan, Pasman, Otok Iz and Dugi Otok. We usually switch between one night in a bay and one night in a town. The actual route always depends on the wind and weather, so we always have to adapt to the conditions on site. Therefore, we cannot promise in advance that we will sail to certain islands and places. This was our route in 2024 as an example - we won't be doing the exact same route this time!!
  • Is it more a holiday or full-time training?
It’s a good mix of both! We want it to be a perfect mix of action and relaxation. You can spend time reading on the deck, snorkeling, swimming just like in a regular sailing holiday. We might find some wracks and hiking trails! On the other hand, you can train as much as you want when the apparatuses are up in the air, and you can book additional workshops if spots are available.
  • Do I need to have experience in sailing? How much do we sail?
The Aerial Cruise will give you as much aerial time as possible while exploring the beautiful islands of Croatia. Most guests come for the aerial part of the retreat, so we are limiting sailing distances to have as much time as possible in the bays for Aerial. We are changing our destination every day, and therefore, we are moving the yacht daily. If there's wind, we are sailing, and you can steer, help the skippers with the ropes and get in some sailing knowledge if you want to. If you are not interested in sailing, that's fine too. You don't have to bring any sailing experience. The Aerial Cruise is the perfect mix of Aerial Training, relaxing and adventurous holiday time, and enjoying boat life in Croatia.
  • What do we eat throughout the day?
All food will be vegetarian and home cooked with out delicious recipies! 😍 We’ll have breakfast and lunch on board every day and there's a self-service fridge with snacks and fruits 24h available. Breakfast will include bread, cheese, jam, peanut butter, yogurt, granola and fruit; we mix up delicious salads for lunch. When we spend the night in a bay, we’ll also have dinner on board. We’ll provide the ingredients and the recipes, but – as a crew – we’re going to prepare our meals together. We won’t have dinner on board whenever we spend the night at a port since many restaurants are in town. You can choose to join the dinner with the group or go somewhere else. Please let us know ahead of time if you are vegan or have any allergies or intolerances. We’ll take turns in doing the dishes (obviously, there’s no dishwasher on board).
  • What if the weather is not nice?
Our route and all activities depend on weather conditions. Luckily, there are hardly any bad weather days in Croatia around that time of the year (let alone more than one in a row), but if we face rain or stormy skies, we might have to change the schedule or cancel activities.
  • Can I take a shower on board?
We have a limited amount of water while we're out and about. That is to say that long hot showers are not always an option. Our tank is refilled every other day when we get to a harbor or city. Often, there are showers on the shore. Don't worry, though. You can have a quick shower on board anytime!
  • Can I charge my electronic devices onboard?
You won’t be able to charge your electronic devices on board, except when wired to shore power. There are standard European power sockets that you can use whenever we dock at a marina or a port (again, every other day). While we’re at sea, there’s only a 12V socket (like the ones you would find in cars). We recommend bringing a power bank if you don’t want to run out of battery at no time. Your phone (and internet) should work throughout, but you might not always get a connection when we’re island hopping. You’ll be too busy to be spending your time online anyway ; )
